Creating Sensory Play at Home

Lately we have been testing out sensory play at home. Some of it has gone over well, some of it has held my one-year-olds concentration for about a minute.

Get Ready for a Somewhat Awesome Moon Dough Adventure!

Let's explore the amazing world of Moon Dough together! With a simple recipe using flour, water, food coloring, and a bit of olive oil, we're in for a real treat!

Imagine this: we're in the kitchen, all excited, measuring and mixing the ingredients in a bowl. But guess what? We forgot to rinse the spoon and bowl afterward. Oops! Later, when my husband was doing the dishes, he found out that the moon dough turned into something as hard as cement. Can you believe it?

To make your dough super colorful: use a lot of food coloring. Let your imagination run wild and create all sorts of vibrant colors!

Now, let's talk about the best part of playing with moon dough—the magical moment when you mix food coloring with water. It's like watching fireworks in your kitchen! The colors blend and move around, making it a show you won't forget. It's so cool!

Of course, playing with moon dough comes with surprises. When my daughter first touched it, she wasn't sure about the weird texture. But then, she started having fun giggling and poking it! She even tried tasting it (you know how kids are, always curious!).

But, I have to be honest, after a little while, she got a bit bored. That's okay,

though! The important thing is that we had those exciting moments together.

Before we finish our moon dough adventure, here's a final tip: pick an oil that doesn't smell too strong. That way, you can enjoy the magic without any distracting smells.

So, fellow parents, get ready to have a blast with moon dough! Let your creativity soar, and don't forget to share the fun with your little ones. It's an amazing experience right in your own kitchen that you don't want to miss!
